Anonymous FTP Controls

Overview

You can allow users to connect to your anonymous FTP directory without having a password to login. This may be useful if you have files that you wish to be publicly available for download. Anonymous FTP allows anyone to access a specified directory without a username or password. This means that anyone can access the files in your anonymous directory. Your anonymous directory is public_ftp/.

Please note that allowing anonymous users to access any part of your system may be considered a security hole.

Steps
  1. The Anonymous FTP Controls page shows the following two check boxes:
    • Allow anonymous access to ftp://ftp.DOMAIN_NAME
    • Allow anonymous uploads to ftp://ftp.DOMAIN_NAME/incoming

The first check box is to allow anonymous login to any directory for the associated domain. The second check box is to allow anonymous login to the "incoming" directory. You can check and uncheck each box according to your specific needs.

  1. Once you have finished modifying the Anonymous FTP Controls, click on the Save Settings button.
  2. You will see the following statement:
    • "Updated!"

Managing the Anonymous FTP Welcome Message
